New Years Day 2023 NFL Betting Guide

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans (+3) O/U 43: My bet for this game. These are two very underrated defenses. Take the alternate under of 46.5 (-180)

Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions (-5.5) O/U 52.5: Vegas is already predicting this to be a sloppy high scoring game. Hopefully these two teams will make it marginally close. My bet: Chicago Bears +7.5 (-166)

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots (-2.5) O/U 41: No Tua. Both teams have key players banged up. My bet: Alternate Under 39.5 (+108)

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5) O/U 45: Won’t be anywhere near as great as we would’ve expected coming into the season. However, the Broncos need to try to save face. My bet: Broncos +10.5 (+104)

Indianapolis Colts @ New York Giants (-5.5) O/U 38.5: Everyone and their brother knows this is going to be a gross low scoring game. My bet: Indianapolis Colts +3.5 (+114)

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5) O/U 40.5: I don’t trust either of these teams to do much of anything right now. However, I trust Sam Darnold far less. My bet: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -2.5 (-166)

Cleveland Browns @ Washington Commanders (-1.5) O/U 40.5: Both of these defenses confuse me so much. I expect some very weird things from this game. My bet: Over 41.5 (+104)

New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5) O/U 41.5: New Orleans is still fighting for a playoff spot. Philadelphia has everything all but locked up with a backup QB. Enough said. My bet: New Orleans Saints +7.5 (-162)

Arizona Cardinals @ Atlanta Falcons (-6.5) O/U 41: Atlanta has won one game all season by more than 4 points. I don’t expect the pattern to change here. David Blough is a competent enough quarterback and Cliff Kingsbury can be crafty at times. My bet: Arizona Cardinals +7.5 (-130)

New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks (+1.5) O/U 43.5: Two underwhelming rushing offenses and two stout pass defenses. My bet: Under 43.5 (-115)

San Fransisco 49ers @ Las Vegas Raiders (+9.5) O/U 41: Jarrett Stidham and no Davante Adams. Close your eyes. Don’t even turn on the game. Just hope for some whacky things to take place and some defensive touchdowns to be scored. My bet: Over 41.5 (-106)

Los Angeles Rams @ Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5) O/U 41: The battle of LA. No home-field advantage. Just as both of these teams are used to. My bet: Over 44.5 (+134)

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers (-3) O/U 47.5: The absolute toughest game of the week to pick. I have no clue what is going to happen in this game. Take a shot with me and ride the hot hand. My bet: TJ Hockenson anytime TD scorer (+230)

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens (-2) O/U 35: The final game of New Year’s Day. A classic all-time AFC North clash. The Steelers have won 4 of the last 5. Keep it simple. My bet: Pittsburgh Steelers -1.5 (+118)

I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s!

Why the Raiders are a value play on Monday night

The AFC West was meant to be an absolute juggernaut in the 2022 NFL season. In reality it’s mostly been a dud. That is, except for of course, the Kansas City Chiefs. However the Las Vegas Raiders have quietly had a similarly explosive offense. They’re in every single game they play in, so why are they 7 point underdogs in a divisional matchup? These teams always play close and the Chiefs don’t have the defense to continually stop the Raiders so I look for this to be and insanely close game that comes down to the last possession. Take the Raiders plus the points and win some money.
